- Treasury Secretary asks for broad new powers to nationalize whatever financial institutions he wants to, and to set guidelines for ALL financial executive compensation
- EPA issues a "finding" that carbon dioxide is a "pollutant" and can be regulated under the Clean Air Act
- Both houses of Congress pass mandatory "National Service" laws
Oh, and my daughter's woolly bear caterpillar, the one she named Isabella because it would turn into an Isabella Tiger Moth, died today. She was very distraught, and after crying for some time, asked her mom, "Can we make her a gravy?" (grave) So we'll be having burial services for Isabella. Really, it's a death like this that puts everything into perspective.

My week started with a truck picking up a dumpster next door smashing into and demolishing the front of my garage.
There wasn't really any way for it go downhill from there!
